The Boys are coming, the boys are coming!

YAY! Just wanted to post on here that my brothers will be flying in to Kodiak tomorrow morning!!! WOW! They will be staying until July 16(!) so they will really be able to experience all that Kodiak has to offer! Tyler and Josh really feel that God has called them here for this time and that He has some great ministry opportunites in store for them here! They will be leaving this afternoon and will not be arriving here on the Island until tomorrow morning, so their adventure will begin with an overnighter in the Anchorage airport! How fun! We are all really excited! So if you could pray 1.) for great weather and safe travels and 2.) for my Momma as she has never been without all three of her children for such an extended period of time and 3.) that God will use them as missionaries while they are here! Thank you all! We love you and can't wait to hear from you! Feel free to either call, write, or email anytime! (lol, that sounds like a commercial) But yup, we really would like to hear from you! Ok, xoxoxo! (And Bryana and Britny: we're praying that you guys will be able to do this next summer!) Will post more when they arrive safely! God Bless each and every one of you today!!!

Introducing... Miss Lucille Ball!!! AHH!

We got a puppy!!! I've never had a puppy!!!! AhhhH!! Our friends Jenny and Ty had puppies about 10 weeks ago(well they didn't, but their dogs did, lol) about the time that we got here, and we've been admiring them, but recently we've just felt that God opened up the doors and said, "ok, go get her!!!" YAY! So this is Miss Lucille Ball!!! I LOVE our Lucy! She is just adorable! The perfect little puppy and we are IN LOVE! She is a Cocker Spaniel! Aww... and Rascal LOVES her! YAY! Beautiful Kodiak Island!!!

Hello!!!

Yesterday was Brandon's day off and we were blessed to have the opportunity to drive out to the edge of our new home! It is about an hour and a half from where we live to the end of the road! It is called Pasagshack and it is absolutely beautiful! Pictures DO NOT do it justice!

Here are just a few... but cannot wait for ya'll to come and see for yourselves! We are excited to go back when it is all green! It is just starting to turn green now. Yup yup. There are buffalo out there also!!! Weird, but very cool! :) And here is a far away of a bald eagle. They are EVERYWHERE! Yup, beautiful! Ok, well, off to the shoulder docter I go! I hurt it at work the other day, and they thought I tore the rotater cuff...but i'm claiming healing and that's that! :) We are doing really good though... sorry I haven't posted more but thanks so much for checking in! We love you and just call whenever :) !!! xoxo

A Bit of our Ferry Ride!

Our boat! Our room was right in the middle there where it's docked up. You can kinda see the balcony area there and we were the last room to the left! Very cool! We were on the Columbia and the Tustamina! Fun stuff!!!

Our HOME!!!! Yay! This was right after we had just picked this as our HOME! Yay! We are SO blessed to have gotten this AmAzInG Home! It is just adorable and feels like it was made just for us! Yay! Yup, so where that spiffy little upstairs window is, that's my laundry room! And the window downstairs is my window seat in the kitchen! VERY cool! And I don't know what kind of plants those are out from, but they're starting to get lots of blossoms! Yay! :) This is our backyard view! It is MUCH prettier in person! I'll post better pics later, bc it really is an amazing view!!! OH! And BTW, this picture was taken around 11 o'clock.........AT NIGHT!!!!! Lol! Yup, it is REALLY crazy here... but we're enjoying the REALLY long days. I TRULY have not seen a night sky yet...no stars, nothing. It's light when we go to bed at midnight and light when we wake up at 5! CRAZY!!! Truly the land of the midnight sun!!!

Our belongings have gotten lost along the way somehow...But hopefully they'll be found and arrive here in Kodiak soon! Yup yup! We are blessed beyond measure here and thank you all for the good weather prayers! It has been AMAZING here weather wise and know it's just another blessing from HIM! :) Ok, well off to fold some laundry!

The Derton's Have Arrived in the Last Frontier!!!

WoW!!! I am happy to announce that we have arrived on Kodiak Island! Woohoo! It feels like it's taken forever to get here...BUT WE'RE HERE!!! We had an amazing journey up through the Yukon territory and on the ALCAN highway... it was a trip truly anointed by God!!! (I will give more details in later posts) We were also told to be prepared to live in a hotel for up to a month when we arrived on the island because housing is not normally available...But God is AMAZING and about a half hour after arriving on the Emerald Isle we walked into our beautiful new home! It is the cutest most perfect place for our little family! Rascal has a great little yard, we're about a half mile from BOTH of our work places, it's 2 story(like we'd prayed for), it is NOT a four-plex, it's adorable(!), and we overlook the OCEAN in our BACKYARD!!! I LOVE IT!!! :) I am just constantly amazed at how GOOD and AWESOME our God is! Also, we already have a church family! Yay! It is the Kodiak Assembly of God, and we are just thrilled to be there and getting involved! We have some AWESOME new friends too! WooHoo! Ty, Jenny and their family are the youth pastors at the church, and are just great people that we are blessed to have the opportunity to know!!! Both Brandon and I will start work this Monday! Brandon will be putting in some long hours bc the boathouse opens May 15th...everyone here on base is very excited bc that's where you get to rent the boats you can take out fishing! AND I will be working at the pool here! WoW! I never really expected to be around the pool atmosphere again, but here I am and I am glad of it! It was such a huge part of my life and I look forward to sharing my experience with others! We did get our mailing address! Yay! I'm not sure if I should put it on here though...who knows if some creep is reading this... :). Sooo... please email me @ bcderton@yahoo.com and I would LOVE love LOVE to give it to you! Also, please start planning your trips to visit now! :) We are anxious to get visitors already! We just cannot wait to share all of this beauty with everyone!!! Well, I'm sorry this is the first post in SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long and it's gonna be so short, but I've got to study some lifeguard material(bc it's been SO long and I'm getting old so my memory is fading...lol.)
