The Derton's Have Arrived in the Last Frontier!!!

WoW!!! I am happy to announce that we have arrived on Kodiak Island! Woohoo! It feels like it's taken forever to get here...BUT WE'RE HERE!!! We had an amazing journey up through the Yukon territory and on the ALCAN highway... it was a trip truly anointed by God!!! (I will give more details in later posts) We were also told to be prepared to live in a hotel for up to a month when we arrived on the island because housing is not normally available...But God is AMAZING and about a half hour after arriving on the Emerald Isle we walked into our beautiful new home! It is the cutest most perfect place for our little family! Rascal has a great little yard, we're about a half mile from BOTH of our work places, it's 2 story(like we'd prayed for), it is NOT a four-plex, it's adorable(!), and we overlook the OCEAN in our BACKYARD!!! I LOVE IT!!! :) I am just constantly amazed at how GOOD and AWESOME our God is! Also, we already have a church family! Yay! It is the Kodiak Assembly of God, and we are just thrilled to be there and getting involved! We have some AWESOME new friends too! WooHoo! Ty, Jenny and their family are the youth pastors at the church, and are just great people that we are blessed to have the opportunity to know!!! Both Brandon and I will start work this Monday! Brandon will be putting in some long hours bc the boathouse opens May 15th...everyone here on base is very excited bc that's where you get to rent the boats you can take out fishing! AND I will be working at the pool here! WoW! I never really expected to be around the pool atmosphere again, but here I am and I am glad of it! It was such a huge part of my life and I look forward to sharing my experience with others! We did get our mailing address! Yay! I'm not sure if I should put it on here though...who knows if some creep is reading this... :). Sooo... please email me @ bcderton@yahoo.com and I would LOVE love LOVE to give it to you! Also, please start planning your trips to visit now! :) We are anxious to get visitors already! We just cannot wait to share all of this beauty with everyone!!! Well, I'm sorry this is the first post in SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long and it's gonna be so short, but I've got to study some lifeguard material(bc it's been SO long and I'm getting old so my memory is fading...lol.) So yup. I'll try to attach some pics! Many many more to come in the future though. ~Sorry, It won't let me attach any for some reason...bummer. Another time...
