Hurry! FREE Christmas music from Oprah!

Hey again!
Now lately I have not been watching Oprah, because I feel she has become very New Ageish...but it came to my attention this morning that on her website she has an awesome arrangement of Christmas music. Now it says it is only for 48 hours, and I have no idea when it started, but GO GIT 'EM NOW! loL! I LOVE free things and just wanted to share what I found! Yummy Apple Salad!!!

My friend and I made this yesterday and it was AmAzInG! I loved it and just thought i'd share it with ya'll! (i'm doing thisfrom memory and I approximate practically everything when I cook...so sorry in advance!)

4 Granny Smith Apples
4 Gala Apples
1 pkg cream cheese(softened)
2 cups whipped cream
1 (big can) pineapple tidbits
Half+ bag of mini marshmallows
Small bag of chopped up peanuts(optional)

Core and chop up the apples into bite sized pieces. In large bowl, whip the cream cheese and whip cream. Slowly pour in just the pineapple juice from the can of tidbits, and whip that all up. Then stir in the apples, pineapple, and marshmallows. Mix well and chill. Before serving pour nuts over the top. And ENJOY!

This is SO good and I couldn't wait to eat it for breakfast this morning! This recipe makes alot and when I make it i'll probably half it...FYI. =) Ok, have a blessed day! xoxoxo

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
We are SO thankful for each and every one of you! We are so blessed to have an amazing network of friends and family and we thank you for being so wonderful! We had a great Thanksgiving yesterday! Originally the senior Derton family was supposed to come over from Idaho, but that did not work out(hopefully we'll get together soon), so we went over to our great neighbors house. Jessie and I cooked for about 15 people from the station! It was fun and different and we had lots of great food. But I cannot wait until Monday when I am cooking Brandon and I's first Thanksgiving, just us! I am going all out! I even have a 22 lb turkey!!! lol! We were SO excited when we went to Safeway the other day and it was 27 cents a lb...so we bought the BIGGEST bird they had! lol! And it was $6.08!!!! Crazy cheap! Yup, Brandon and I plan to eat turkey, turkey, and more turkey! I'll post lots of pictures on Monday after it's all cooked up and yummy looking! Moose and Taters!

Lol! I just had to share more pictures! First of all I had to share the picture of my moose! It was SO close! My hubby didn't think it was as AMAZING as I did because it didn't have a rack...But I LOVED it! =) I was suprized at how long and cute it's face was! I just loved the thing! =) I even had to buy a moose Christmas tree ornament!

And... I found two piles of home grown potatoes in our back yard! I was thrilled! The cheif's wife that lived here before us must have planted them! They're cute and yummy red ones. The whole base got to see me in our backyard digging up taters and poping them in a bag, all the while with the BIGGEST grin on my face! =) I've never grown anything, so I was extremly proud of myself! And they were extremly yummy as mashed taters! Yup yup! Just had to share! =)

Oh my...too long!

WoW! I'd be really surprised if anyone out there is actually still checking our blog! =) I'm sorry! I've been without internet! Ok, let's see...where do I begin with our updates? Well, first of all, just to clarify for those of you that didn't know...after my last blog I made a surprise, sneaky visit back to AZ! We'd been planning it for a long time now, it was just a surprise for my family so I had to fib a bit on here in order to pull it off! Brandon was at BTM school in South Carolina and I was in AZ! He had a great time learning how to arrest people and manly stuff like that! =) I'm so proud of him! And I had a wonderful time back in Green Valley with my familia! We did all kinds of fun stuff... from going up a mountain on a one lane dirt road to an observatory, being the host of the Blast again and even getting to see my brother Joshy play a couple football games! Yay! It was great! Oh and before we left we got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Miles! They took us to Northwest Trek and my husband looked like a little kid in a candy shop he was SO happy to go there again with them! And I too looked like an idiot because I saw a real live MOOSE!!! I was THRILLED! I've always wanted to see a moose... and I did! =) (I know, i'm a dork!) So that was great fun for us all! Let's see...now we're back at home and happily together again! Yippee! It was a long 3 weeks without him. Oh...WE GOT ORDERS! Brandon will now definitely be going to the January 20th class of BM 'A' school! He is very excited to finally be taking the next step in his Coast Guard career! What that means though, is that we will be leaving here possibly as early as mid-December and taking a road trip cross country to Virginia!!! Woohoo! And then(boo) I will be flying back to AZ for 3 whole months! Ahhh! "I'll be fine, i'll be fine, i'll be fine..." I just keep telling myself that! I will. But it'll be nice to spend more time with my family and hopefully i'll be able to find a little job. Well, I think i've pretty much got all the important things covered! Lots of Christmas stuff has gone up in our house! Yay! I convinced Brandon that since we might not be here for Christmas then I needed our tree up ASAP! And it worked! It's up, and it's beautiful! Aunt Linda made us a beautiful tree skirt and it matched perfectly with our other stuff! My hubby is just amazing and spoils me rotten! I love it! We are so happy here, i'm sad to leave. Oh well, life goes on, we are extremely blessed... Ok now i'm rambling! Sorry! Have a blessed day and thanks for catching up on what's happening with the Derton's! A Warm Rascal!

Hey there everyone! Here is the little baby with his sweater from Grandma Place (lol, that sounds funny to say!) on! He is just too cute! He looks pretty scruffy in these pics, it's the humitity ;) ...but he's still cuter than cute! He is a bit stressed right now b/c he can tell that we're going on a trip! We're going to see his Grandparents for a long weekend and a friend is going to watch him...but he just KNOWS he's being left again! ...Poor Baby, I feel so bad leaving him! Well, i've procrastinated on packing again... and Brandon would like to leave as soon as he gets home from work! Yikes! I'd better get moving! I know i'm packing way too much...but oh well... three days is a long time! ;) It has been SO cold! Yesterday it got below freezing! Ugg...and it's only October! It's beautiful this morning though... the grass is just kinda frosted over and a cloud is just hangin out over the water and Hobuck Mt.! I love it! Well, i've G2G! (Got to Go!) :) Love ya! Back in Business!!!

Yay! I'm back!!! Woohoo! Our internet is finally back up and running! Who knows what the matter with it was, but it just started working again last night! I'm SO thankful... I missed updating my blog! :) Well, it's kinda sad, but not too much has happened in the two weeks since i've last updated! I am now babysitting a little 2 year old girl for 3 hours everyday... so that's a nice little change. She just comes over to our house,so that's nice. It's a good thing both for the little girl and myself. I enjoy it! Rascal is doing good! He is such a little baby! Everyone at the station up here loves him! Oh my mom got Rascal a sweater! And he LoVeS it! He wears it proudly around the house! It is really cute and funny! I'll post a picture! He got it just in time because it feels like the winter is starting to set in! It is nice... but kinda dreary. It is 45 degrees out and raining... yucky. But i'm nice and toasty warm inside with my pumpkin spice candle permeating through the house and my clothed little puppy curled up beside me. It's cozy. It nw looks like we will definately be leaving here in January! It's a good thing that Brandon will finally be getting to go to his A school, but i'm kinda sad to be leaving here. We really love that Brandon is able to be home so much here! But anyways, so in January Brandon will be going to his "A" school in Yorktown, Virginia and I will be living at home in AZ with my family. For 3 months! It will be good to be home... but I will miss my hubby so very much! ....But I know it'll be ok! He'll come out being a Petty Officer! I think that's pretty cool...I'm so proud of him! Well...i'm gonna go eat breakfast. I'll try to post a picture later of Rascal in his sweater! Thanks for checking back in on us! We love ya!
