Tsunami Update

Just wanted you all to know that we are just fine up here and have not been harmed in any way by the tsunami or earthquake. Thankfully some early morning calls and texts were our only warning that we may have been in danger. While the rest of the Pacific was in turmoil, we Kodiakians were safely tucked in our beds and not awoken by the many warning sirens located on the island. A small wave apparently hit our shore, but it did not put us in any immediate danger. While we are still under a tsunami alert/warning they are not expecting us to get hit with anything truly dangerous. We are blessed to live on a big hill and are actually where people will evacuate to in the event a large tsunami were to hit. Still it was a bit disconcerting to look out our bedroom window this early morning and see our peaceful ocean, wondering if an ominous wave was heading our way. Thankful we serve a BIG God and while the world is in turmoil right now HE still holds it in His amazing hands. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those that were effected this morning. Life can change SO quickly. I read that the wave was traveling at speeds over 500 miles per hour. Wow. You never know what is going to be speeding toward you in this life; we all need to be prepared for eternity at a moments notice. Are you ready? Jesus is waiting for you. He is only a prayer away. NOW is the right time. Matthew 7:7 says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." He will not deny you. It is SO easy. John 3:16: For this is how God loved the world: He gave his unique Son so that everyone who believes in him might not be lost but have eternal life. Just like this tsunami, life happens quickly and there may be no time to prepare, please be ready!!! Jesus is waiting for YOU! He is the reason that we are here. He has blessed us SO abundantly and whatever fiery darts the devil may throw at us in this life, we will continue to serve our AWESOME God. He is good ALL the time!
